ChonBuri Material/Fabric Market and the Tailor!

Well.....considering there are SO many tailors in Pattaya a great idea would be obviously to have custom clothing made.....So off we went in search or some great fabric for out future creations. The search started on Saturday night where....not being able to read thai; numerous thai magazines were bought and ripped to shreads to find design idea's and potential patterns. Then it was off to a recommended market. This market was located in Chonburi; about 35min Drive from Pattaya Up Sukhumvit. Its realitvely easy to find and FILLED with tons of material! Although there is also a fruit and veg market attached and be sure NOT to get lost in the fish market section.....
The fabrics cost between 25-350 baht/m depending on what you are getting. We found some great satins for 80 baht and some for 150 baht.

Its possible to get jeans material for about 150 - 250 baht per meter depending on what you like. 100% cottons available at about 200 baht/m. The selection is massive although some of the shops are realitively similar; if you have time you can really peruse through the shops.

Well once we found all the material needed to sufficently supply us with a new wardrobe; it was off to find a decent tailor. Now that is more of a mission than its probably worth. After some extensive asking and researching; we discovered some interesting facts about tailoring in Pattaya.
The shop fronts all down beach road and second road etc that claim to be tailors; actually send their stuff to little sweat shops behind Tukom in South Pattaya. Where the Parking lot is for Tukom are these millions of little thai places working every so hard at making clothing. ALTHOUGH it might seem smart to go directly to the source. Its not always the easiest or most convientient. They dont really speak...well....any english....although it did seem those 14yr olds knew what they were doing......So we ended up talking to a lady....who I think saw us coming from a mile away.....because she started quoting OUTRAGEOUS prices. So off we high tailed it to a local tailor with supposedly 40yrs experiance!
This place is called "Paradise Fashion" and is directly opposite the Royal Garden Plaza.
So there you go.....tailoring in Pattaya made easy!

What I have requested from "Paradise Fashion": 2x Suit pants. Black and White. Slightly higher waist; long. 1x Suit pants. Normal cut. Thick band (for bigger belts) Grey. 3x Identical Matches to my favorite skirt; black, white and grey. 1x Normal blue Jeans. 1x Grey wash Skinny jeans.

Thursday: 26th November: First fitting! Ok everything seems ok....the pants are totally awesome and ready for my work wear! Woohoo! Although the waists might ive me nipple chafe with the high-ness thereof.
Tuesday 01 December: Fitting 2: About to go....sick as a dog today but i was getting cabin fever staying at home....so thought something light and easy to filly my day of bordem and illness.....lets see how it pans out!
12 December: Well we finally have the outcome. And well needless to say it was "slightly" disasterous on both mine and my "unnamed friend"'s part. All said pants were identical including the "skinny jeans" which are now bell bottoms. The clothing took way to long to be completed. As in....hey; come in on Monday and monday the clothes werent there....rather come in tomorrow and again the same thing. "Unnamed friend" Needed hers rather urgently and recieved them almost a month late. Not fitting and not what she asked for.

What I ended up with: the 3x skirts. Identical. Although the lining rides up. 3x suit pants. All standard and identical. Blue jeans. High waisted Identical to the suit pants. Grey wash jeans. Identical to the Blue jeans (clearly skinny was not an option)
Well needless to say we were not pleased with the final outcome. Unnammed friend did not recieve what she had ordered at all; and the meters of extra material we purchased when missing completely? She has now left the country and is STILL awaiting her stuff which was incorrectly made and late. Also the attitude of the people there changed over night, They promised to contact us and we needed to keep following up with them. And when we did it was a case of come back tomorrow and we'll have everything and when we did nothing was ready. And they never followed up with us at all.
When i complained about my skinny jeans, then i was told rather rudely that i was NOT a tailor and how would i know?.......not appropriate. So Paradise Fashion earns a PLUG DOWN from me and an absolute   -5 stars.....

What would be useful is a Google location of this fabric market.
